When a family actually needs one van
Count heads first, then count bags. Eight adults with cabin trolleys is a different load from eight adults with one backpack each. Do not book by the number on a WhatsApp group alone. If sixteen names are on the list and half of them are bringing large suitcases, the 16-passenger van may still be tight on boot space. Long-distance family runs
Outstation Urbania hire is billed with a 300 km per calendar day minimum, garage to garage. The garage is the Manya Tours office at No. 339, Chikkajala Village, Jala Hobli, Yelahanka taluk, Bangalore 562157. Kilometres start when the vehicle leaves that office and end when it returns. A family that thinks “we only drove 220 km today” can still be billed for 300 km because the empty run to pickup and the return to Chikkajala count.
Published outstation rates on the Urbania rental cards include ₹36 per km for the 13-passenger van and ₹38 per km for the 16-passenger van, both with that 300 km/day minimum. That is the billing frame. It is not a promise that any particular hill-station day will stay inside 300 km. If you add a lake, a temple and a viewpoint, tell the desk the loop you want. Extra kilometres use the vehicle’s extra-km rate. The chauffeur’s rest on a multi-day trip is part of planning; say how many nights you are away so the desk can place the days on the calendar correctly.
Fuel-band language on the Urbania rental page notes that rates can move with diesel at ₹85–₹95 per litre and petrol at ₹95–₹105 per litre. Ask for a written quote for your dates rather than treating a blog figure as a locked invoice.
What to tell the desk so the van that arrives is the van you meant
- Pickup address and a nearby landmark the chauffeur can pin.
- Drop address, or “return to same house” if it is a round trip.
- Date, reporting time, and whether any leg runs after 10:00 pm.
- Passenger count by adult / child, plus any elder who needs a near-door seat.
- Luggage: number of large suitcases, plus odd items.
- Which published layout you want: 10-passenger, 10-seater luxury / Maharaj, 12-seater luxury, 13-passenger, or 16-passenger.
- Local day (city hops) versus outstation (overnight or highway).
