How to plan a chauffeur road trip from Bangalore

Coffee-country road trip from Bangalore by chauffeur-driven cab

Most Bangalore families do not need a fare lecture when they first think of an outstation cab. They need a plan: how many calendar days the car should stay with them, which vehicle actually fits the people and bags, whether the chauffeur sleeps out, and what must be written down before anyone leaves Chikkajala. Manya Tours is a chauffeur-driven service. Kilometres and hours are counted garage to garage from the office at Chikkajala, Bangalore 562157. The rupee arithmetic — the 300 km per calendar day floor, extra-km rates, bhatta, night driving, tolls — already sits in the article on how outstation cab charges work in Bangalore. Use that page when you want numbers. Use this one when you want to book without surprises.

Begin with calendar days, not with a destination name

An outstation hire is billed by the calendar day, not by a tourist’s idea of “one trip”. If the car leaves the garage on Friday and returns on Sunday, that is three calendar days even if Saturday is only local sightseeing. If you leave after breakfast and insist on being home the same night, that is still one billed day, and the 300 km minimum for that day still applies. The destination does not change the rule. Coorg, Chikmagalur, Ooty, Wayanad, the coast, Tirupati — all of them sit on the same commercial slab unless a written quote says otherwise.

So the first planning question is not “which hill station”. It is “on which dates should the chauffeur collect us, and on which date should the car be back at the garage”. Once those two dates are honest, the desk can map them to days, rest, and a vehicle. If you are still choosing between two towns, say so. A Bangalore to Coorg cab and a Chikmagalur weekend by cab are neighbouring coffee-country ideas; they are not the same hotel list, and they are not a reason to invent a combined itinerary on WhatsApp five minutes before pickup.

Treat garage time as part of the journey

Doorstep pickup inside Bangalore city limits is how the outstation packages are described. That does not mean the meter starts at your gate. The published method is garage to garage. The chauffeur comes out from Chikkajala, collects you, runs the trip, and returns to the same garage. Empty running at both ends is still running. If your house is on the far side of the city from Yelahanka, say so early. The desk cannot delete that distance; they can only plan the day’s start so you are not waiting on the footpath while the car is still crossing town.

The same honesty helps on the last day. A late checkout, a last waterfall, and a late-night re-entry to Bangalore can stack. If the vehicle is driven between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM, night bhatta is charged double on the published terms. If elders or small children are in the car, many families prefer to start early and keep the return inside ordinary hours. Others accept a night run because a Monday office will not wait. Either is fine — as long as the quote knows which one you mean.

What belongs in the first message to the desk

A useful first note is short and complete. Call +91 799-6662-202, WhatsApp 799-6664-404, or write to booking@manyatours.in with:

  • Pickup locality in Bangalore, and whether anyone else must be collected on the way out
  • Destination town or towns, plus hotel names if you already have them
  • Travel dates, including whether the car stays overnight
  • Headcount, including infants, and a plain list of large bags
  • Any need for a child seat, extra stop, or a larger van rather than a sedan

You do not need a self-written kilometre estimate. The desk will apply the 300 km per calendar day minimum and the vehicle’s extra-km rate to whatever the garage clock actually records. Guessing a highway distance in the chat only creates an argument later.

Choose the vehicle by people and luggage, not by a photograph

Manya Tours does not offer self-drive on these trips. You are hiring a car with a professional chauffeur. The published fleet is wide: Dzire-class sedans, Innova Crysta and Hycross, Fortuner, luxury Mercedes and Vellfire, Kia Carnival, Force Urbania in 10, 12, 13 and 16 layouts, Tempo Traveller, and coaches. That list is not a menu of invented destination fares. It is a set of sizes. Ask the desk which of those is free on your dates, or browse the fleet pages and name the class you want.

A couple with two soft bags can sit in a sedan and still have a civil boot. A family of five with strollers, a pram, and three hard suitcases will not. Hill weather adds jackets and a damp bag of yesterday’s clothes. Pilgrimage trips add prasad boxes on the way home. Coastal trips add sandy footwear. It requires a boot that closes. If the group is a full van, say so; squeezing sixteen names into a sixteen-seater with sixteen suitcases is how people start the holiday already irritated.

Luxury cars and the Carnival are reasonable when the trip is an anniversary, a senior guest, or a corporate family. Urbania and Tempo Traveller are reasonable when the trip is a joint family or a small office outing. Coaches appear when the headcount is genuinely a coach. Urbania kilometre specials live on the Urbania pages, not in a destination chat. On any class, the outstation floor remains 300 km per calendar day unless your written confirmation says something else.

Overnight hire is a rest plan, not only a hotel plan

If the car stays out, the chauffeur stays out. Outstation driver bhatta is extra; it exists because the person behind the wheel is working away from home. You still decide the sightseeing pace. Customisable sightseeing is part of how the packages are sold. Customisable does not mean the chauffeur never sleeps.

Tell the desk where you expect the car to stand at night — hotel porch, homestay gate, or a town you will only name on the day. Homestays up a plantation track can be fine; they can also be a poor place to leave a large van. The chauffeur will work with what is legal and safe. You should not promise a “secret shortcut” or a particular ghat as if the company has ranked roads in this article. Road choice on the day follows conditions. Your job is to name the stay and the must-see places in ordinary language: coffee estate, waterfall, tea garden, beach, temple town.

Budget the extras without turning this page into a tariff sheet

Three lines are enough, and they are the same on every destination:

  1. Tolls, parking, and state border permits or taxes are extra at actuals.
  2. Driver bhatta applies on outstation; night driving between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM attracts double night bhatta on the terms.
  3. Luggage travels at the passenger’s risk. Keep valuables with you when you leave the car for a walk or a meal.

If you want the rupee logic, the extra-km idea, and the garage clock explained slowly, open the outstation charges guide. If you want the live fleet cards and a quote, use the outstation cab service page. This article will not reprint either.

Confirm these points in writing before the car is blocked

A nominal booking advance is how the company blocks a vehicle. Before you pay it, you should be able to point to a message or mail that states:

  • Vehicle class (sedan, Innova-class, Carnival, Urbania layout, Tempo Traveller, coach, or a named luxury car)
  • Pickup date and approximate window, and return date
  • Whether the hire is one calendar day or several
  • That billing is garage to garage with a 300 km per day minimum
  • That tolls, parking, permits, and bhatta are extra unless the quote includes them
  • Hotel or reporting address at the destination, if you have one

If two families are splitting the bill, say who the desk should invoice. Corporate GST billing is a different conversation; it belongs on a company booking, not on a last-minute personal WhatsApp.

Two nearby examples, so the method is not abstract

Coorg (Madikeri) is listed for coffee plantations, waterfalls, misty weather, couples and families. Chikmagalur is listed as the birthplace of Indian coffee, with hills, waterfalls, scenic drives, and a weekend-escape tone. Both are chauffeur trips from Bangalore. Neither needs a made-up drive time. They need an honest day count, a vehicle that takes the bags, and a chauffeur who is not expected to stay up all night for one more viewpoint. The same method travels to Ooty, Wayanad, Mangalore and Udupi, and Tirupati. Named trips live on the packages hub; cars and the 300 km rule live on the service page; planning lives here.

How to actually book

When the dates are real, message the desk rather than browsing another ten tabs. Phone +91 799-6662-202 for a quick availability check. WhatsApp 799-6664-404 if you want to send a hotel voucher photo. Email booking@manyatours.in if accounts needs a PDF. Mention that you have read the charges article if you already know the 300 km floor — it saves everyone a circular explanation. Then lock the car, pack the bags you named, and leave the route to the chauffeur.
